01Who we are

This website belongs to Clay Cross Airguns, an airgun shop at 22 Market Street, Clay Cross, Chesterfield S45 9JE. Clay Cross Airguns decides how the personal information collected through this website is used, so it is the controller of that information under UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018).

02What we collect

You can browse the whole site without giving us any personal information. We only receive personal information when you choose to send it:

• Enquiry form: your name, email address, telephone number if you give one, a subject and your message.
• Email or phone: whatever you include when you email or call the shop.

The site has no customer accounts, newsletter sign-up or online payments. Product prices and stock are for information; purchases take place in the shop.

03How we use it

We use your details only to reply to your enquiry and deal with any follow-up, for example checking stock, ordering an item for you or arranging a visit. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in answering enquiries about the shop, and where you ask about buying something, taking steps at your request before a sale.

We don’t sell your information, use it for marketing you haven’t asked for, or use it for automated decision-making.

04Who handles it for us

A small number of service providers are involved in running the website:

Some of these providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, they rely on safeguards recognised under UK law. Links to Facebook, Instagram and Google listings only share information with those services if you follow them.

05How long we keep it

We keep enquiries for as long as we need them to deal with your request and any follow-up, then delete them. If an enquiry leads to a purchase, records of the sale are kept for as long as the law requires.

06Cookies and storage

This site uses no advertising or analytics cookies of its own. It stores two small items in your browser so the site works, and Google Maps can set cookies only if you choose to load the map.

07Your rights

You can ask us to:

• give you a copy of the personal information we hold about you
• correct anything that’s wrong or incomplete
• delete your information, or limit how we use it
• stop using your information where we rely on legitimate interests
• send your information to you or another organisation in a usable format

To make a request, email pete@claycrossairguns.co.uk or write to the shop. We’ll respond within one month. If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

08Changes to this policy

If the website starts collecting anything new, for example online orders, this policy will be updated first and the date at the top will change.
